Who we are
Our website address is: https://sacredwindow.com. We are a publishing and educational website that focuses on Ayurvedic Postpartum care for mothers and their newborns.
What personal data we collect and and how we protect it
Opt-in Data
You will notice our Opt-in link over in the right column of our website. This collects your information for our mailing list and marketing.
If you click on this link, you will be invited to enter your email, name and optional phone and other information, as shown on the image opposite.
We never sell this information to anyone, but we may one day share it with the women who helped Ysha Oakes form the original Sacred Window School. For more about this, please see the section entitled, Who we share your data with, below.
Comments
It is sometimes possible to leave comments on our website. When visitors leave comments on the site our Spam detection program add-in on our website may collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
Also, Gravatar (a feature built-in to WordPress that finds the photo associated with your email name) analyzes an anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) to see if you are using it. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in on the comment form to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). We offer these links to because we want to provide helpful information to you.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content. We are careful (and judicious) about the links we provide to you. However, we have no way of knowing if a particular website link we provide is able to gather data about you. If you are concerned about the security or safety of our links, do not click on them.
Who we share your data with
We have a very small number of associates who have long been involved as founding faculty for Sacred Window School who have requested use of our Mail Chimp mailing list. So far we have offered this list to two trusted enterprises: The Center for Sacred Window Studies and The Wisewomanhood School. The only information we provide to our associates is your name and email name. You may receive occasional email mailings from them for the following reasons:
- contact you with offers, services or products that may be of interest to you, and
- provide you with their products or services.
We will notify you that we have gifted our mailing list to our colleagues in their first mailing to you. It should read something like this:
Please contact us directly at ayudoula @ gmail.com if you prefer we not gift your information to our colleagues. We will remove your information from the list we provide to them.
How long we retain your data
If you opt-in to our mailing list, or leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
We don’t currently allow people to register on our website, but if we do in the future, this registration will cause our system to store the personal information you provide in your user profile. We’ll make sure you can see, edit, or delete your personal information at any time (except you cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have personal data on this site, you have the right to correct, update, change, or disable it. You can also adjust the frequency with which you receive our mailings or unsubscribe completely. Please contact us directly at info @ sacredwindow.com to coordinate these changes. If we disable your account, we may be obliged to keep it stored for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
It is up to you to carefully protect the personal information that you submit on our site. While we don’t currently ask for anything but your name and email name in our Opt-In feature, if you leave comments, please remember not to disclose any sensitive information in the public domain — such as passwords, usernames, location, images, and videos — so that third parties can’t manipulate your accounts or assume your identities.
Where we send your data
We don’t send your data to anyone, but it may be used by two of our add-in features that we use as part of our website design. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service, which we have subscribed to as part of our Word Press add-in technologies. We also use Mailchimp to host our mailing list, which contains your email name, personal name as well as opt-in dates and answers to your opt-in questions. See Who we share your data with above, for more about how we may share your mailing list information.
How we protect your data
Through our hosting account, we subscribe to SiteLock, which provides a firewall against malware and viruses that may affect our website, and also scans for and removes them as needed. This protects you from picking up any of these problems and passing them on to others. It’s impossible for Sacred Window to completely guarantee that user data will be immune from malicious attack or compromise; as such, please understand that transmission of personal data is always at your own risk.
What third parties we receive data from
We have a Word Press website, with its associated software platform and add-ins necessary for running our website. Although we don’t know exactly how these products interact with our website, we are diligent about upgrading this software regularly and providing SiteLock protection to prevent malware and viruses from exploiting our data.
What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data
We do not use automated features when dealing with our user data. We sometimes scan the optional profile data we receive when you Opt-in to our mailing list, but it is a manual scan and is not used in any other way.
A Gentle Reminder
It is up to you to carefully protect the personal information that you submit on our site. While we ask for your name, email, phone and a few other simple questions in Opt-In feature, you are not required to fill in the entire form. If you leave comments, please remember not to disclose any sensitive information in the public domain — such as passwords, usernames, location, images, and videos — so that third parties can’t manipulate your accounts or assume your identities.
Changes to the Privacy Policy
Sacred Window might make changes to our privacy policy from time-to-time. If we make any substantive changes to our privacy policies, we will notify you. If you choose to continue to interact with the site following a revision of the company’s privacy policy, you will automatically be subject to the new terms.
